About the Lake Havasu City, Arizona Area Lake Havasu City was Founded in 1963 and incorporated in 1978. We have 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, Mohave Community College and Northern AZ University-Mohave 2 Plus 2 Partnership. The lake has 450 miles of shoreline, four city parks, 1 dog park, performance arts center, eight lighted tennis courts and four golf courses.
