Lake Havasu Shopping & Dining

Lake Havasu AZ Shopping & Dining

Besides our sparkling lake and sandy beaches, Lake Havasu City is perhaps best-known for London Bridge—yes, that’s right—the London Bridge! In 1968, when the City of London replaced the London Bridge spanning the River Thames, Lake Havasu City purchased the stones and re-assembled the London Bridge in Arizona, reinforcing the original 1830’s era masonry with a concrete infrastructure. Today, our London Bridge, open to the public since 1971, spans a long man-made canal that connects Lake Havasu on the Colorado River to Thompson Bay.

For those who’d like to experience Lake Havasu with a guide, there are specialized tours available in Lake Havasu City proper, as well as in nearby communities—some of the most unique our area offers visitors are the Desert Diamond Distillery Factory Tour, the Haunted Bridge - Spirits in Stone tour, the London Bridge Historic Walking Tour—or get a bird’s-eye view of Lake Havasu with one of the many hot-air balloon tours available year-round.

Shopping & Dining in Lake Havasu City

When it comes to shopping and dining options, Lake Havasu City is fond of saying that there are more choices here than stars in the sky—choose from intimate bistros, upscale boutiques, locally-owned cafes and artisanal shops, or nationally-known restaurant chains and retailers—whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it in Lake Havasu City!

The stretch of McCulloch Blvd. between Smoketree Ave. and Acoma Blvd., known as Uptown, or the Main Street District, is home to some of the most interesting shops, bookstores, coffeehouses and fine dining destinations in all of Arizona—the distinctive shops of this area service a wide variety of shoppers, and specialize in everything from women’s boutique fashions, upscale jewelry, fine art brokerages, and cigar and Arizona wine bars. London Bridge isn’t just for touring—just beneath the bridge’s historic stones, treat yourself to some fun at the London Bridge Shops waterfront shopping and sightseeing district, or pamper yourself with a “stay-cation” at the London Bridge Resort. Across the London Bridge from “mainland” Lake Havasu City, there are the shops and dining destinations of The Island Fashion Mall, and The Shops at Lake Havasu outdoor mall, located in the north end of the city, near the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport,  features national retailers JC Penny, Walmart Super Center and Dillard’s, among many others.

Pull up a chair, there’s room at the table—and hundreds of flavors to sample at the restaurants of Lake Havasu City! Whether it’s sushi you’re in the mood for, the Southwest heat our area’s known for, or a good old-fashioned burger you’re craving, you’ll find just the right spot to grab a bite or have a night out on the town in Lake Havasu City! Looking for a tall, cold one at the end of a hot summer day? Lake Havasu’s own Mudshark Brewing Company & Restaurant, Barley Brothers Brewery & Grill, or College Street Brewhouse & Pub are all placed where Havasu locals head to grab a frosty mug of hand-crafted local brew and cool off. Talk about happy hour! Lake Havasu City dining ranges from casual fare at cafés, sports bars, and local bistros to specialty restaurants, including Mexican cantinas, sushi bars and lakeside steakhouses, as well as the fine dining of Havasu’s resort restaurants, whose menus feature fusion cuisine alongside classic dishes, served up with an upscale, modern flair.

For a picture-perfect “stay-cation,” there’s no better place to be than Lake Havasu City, whose ample waterfront resorts, spas, golf courses and casinos provide visitors with a delightful indulgence in luxury, without ever having to leave home! The Refuge Golf & Country Club and The Nautical Beachfront Resort are among some of our city’s most popular resorts for tourists and residents alike. A number of casinos, convenient to the Lake Havasu City area, including The Havasu Landing Resort & Casino, the only casino on beautiful Lake Havasu, BlueWater Resort and Casino in nearby Parker, and Laughlin, NV’s Aquarius Casino Resort offer guests a chance to get away, relax, indulge themselves, and try their luck at the tables!

Guests who want to learn more about the history of London Bridge, the Lake Havasu Hotel, and the WWII Army Air Corps rest camp that used to call Lake Havasu City home will want to make sure to pay a visit to the Lake Havasu Museum of History, where our city’s colorful past comes to life! The cultural arts scene in Lake Havasu City is as vibrant as you might expect for a city of our size—there are a number of privately owned galleries and fine art dealers, as well as community education and outreach programs through the Lake Havasu Art Guild.

However, sometimes it’s the little things that our residents cherish the most—a perfect day at the beach, ended with a cocktail at the famous Turtle Beach Bar, and a sunset over one of the many lighthouses of the Colorado River area—Lake Havasu’s own Lighthouse Club provides a monthly calendar of events, so you’ll know which one to visit for planned activities or seasonal happenings.
